Mrs. Dorothy M. “Dot” Henry, 91, of Galesburg, Illinois died 3:40 p.m. Sunday, March 17, 2019 at Rosewood Care Center, Galesburg.
She was born August 8, 1927 in Knoxville, Illinois to Lee F. and Eula (Richardson) Unger. She married Richard “Bud” Henry April 18, 1943 in Kahoka, Missouri. He preceded her in death February 26, 1998.
Surviving are two daughters, Becky Lynn (and Alan) Nourie, of Normal, Illinois, and Cheryl Marie (and Randal) LaFollette of Galesburg; one brother, Willis D. Unger of Arkansas; one sister, Jeri Godsil of Galesburg; seven grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Karen K. Tucker, two brothers, three sisters and two grandchildren.
Dot worked in the food service department at Knox College in Galesburg for 17 years and retired in 1981. She volunteered for the Galesburg American Legion Post #285. She enjoyed cooking and baking and loved to go to her grandchildren’s activities. Dot was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 1, 2019 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Galesburg Chapel. Rev. James Ecklund will officiate. Burial will be in Warren County Hope Cemetery, rural Alexis. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 1, 2019 at the chapel. Memorials may be made to Beacon of Hope Hospice.
