Mrs. Estelle Loretta (Meggison) Trask

Mrs. Estelle Loretta Trask, 92, formerly of Galesburg, Illinois died 6:50 a.m. Thursday, January 10, 2019 at The Loft Rehabilitation and Nursing in Eureka, Illinois. 

She was born September 29, 1926 in Galesburg, Illinois to William and Adelaide Vasey Megginson.  She married Donald L. Trask December 1, 1946 in Galesburg.  He preceded her in death September 30, 2013. 

Surviving is a son, Donald Dean (and Marilu) Trask of Lee Summit, Missouri, two daughters, Carol (and Giles) Sorrells of Germantown, Illinois and Leah (and William) Webster of Chillicothe, Illinois, a sister, Peggy Worden of Tucson, Arizona, six grandchildren, Janet Slonneger, Kim Brown, Katie Williams, Jennifer Mirock, Andrew Sorrells, and Amanda Briggs and 17 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Corrine Erickson and Geneva Leininger, a grandson, Kristopher Trask and a great granddaughter, Emery Mirock. 

Estelle graduated from Galesburg High School in 1944.  She graduated from the School of Practical Nursing in Galesburg where she was the president of her class.  She was a nurse at the Galesburg Clinic for 30 years.  She also worked for the former O.T. Johnson Department Store in Galesburg for 10 years.  She was a member and Elder of the First Christian Church in Galesburg.  She was a member and former president of the Galesburg Women’s Club and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.  Estelle enjoyed and was an avid Bridge player. 

Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon on Monday, January 14, 2019 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Galesburg Chapel.  Funeral service will be 12:00 Noon Monday, January 14, 2019 at the Chapel.  Rev. Martha Jean Fitch will officiate.  Entombment will be in East Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg, Illinois.  Memorials may be made to The Loft Rehabilitation and Nursing Eureka, Illinois or Unity Point Methodist Hospice.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
