Mrs. Frances Richardson Obituary

Mrs. Frances M. Richardson, 93, of Galesburg, Illinois died 6:32 a.m. Monday, December 23, 2019 at Woodridge Supportive Living Center, Galesburg. 

She was born March 6, 1926 in Knox County, Illinois to Oscar and Susan (Vaughn) Nelson.  She married Robert Wood June of 1945 in Galesburg.  He preceded her in death August of 1966.  She later married Paul Richardson September 1, 1967 in Knoxville, Illinois.  He preceded her in death October of 1991. 

Surviving are two sons, Stephen Wood of Oakland, Tennessee and Robert (and Sharon) Wood of Lake Forest, California, a brother, Stanley Nelson of Wataga, Illinois, four grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother Chester Nelson and a sister, Harriet Hetrick. 

Frances graduated from Galesburg High School in 1943 and Brown’s Business College in Galesburg in 1945.  She worked in retail and sales for 20 years.  She lived her entire life in the greater Galesburg area and was a member of First United Methodist Church and OAKS. 

Cremation will be accorded.  Memorial Graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 30, 2019 at Memorial Park Cemetery, Galesburg.  Rev. Vince Rohn will officiate.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Galesburg Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
