Mrs. Isabel J. Polousky Burks, 89, of Galesburg, Illinois died 1:00 a.m. Friday, November 2, 2018 at home.
She was born August 7, 1929 in Kewanee, Illinois to John and Katherine V. Andrew Polousky. She married Carl W. Burks November 3, 1948 in Rockford, Illinois. She later married Wes Morrow August 31, 1972 in Knoxville, Illinois.
Surviving is a son Jerry (and Sheila) Burks of Richmond, Indiana, three daughters, Bonnie (and Larry) Dewees of Springfield, Missouri, Connie Smith of Galesburg and Toni (and Joseph) Kidd of Clinton, Illinois, a brother, Owen (and Betsy) Polousky of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, a sister Caroline Gustine of Galesburg, five grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and ten great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son-in-law, Jerry L. Smith and a great grandson.
Isabel graduated from Galva High School, Galva, Illinois in 1947. She graduated from Hershey Beauty School in Kewanee. She was a beautician and waitress in the Galesburg area for 50 years and retired in 2001. She was of the Methodist faith. She enjoyed dancing, reading, working puzzles and socializing at the former Galesburg Senior Center.
