Elizabeth Jo Stick, 70 of Abingdon, passed away at 3:55 p.m. Thursday, May 24, 2018 at her home.
She was born July 20, 1947 in McDonough County, the daughter of William and Betty Jean (Wilson) Worthington. She married Dean Stick on March 27, 1967 and they divorced. Later, Jo was a companion to Robert L. Courson for thirty-three years and he preceded her in death on January 28, 2011. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Jo is survived by her daughters, Melissa (Craig, Sr.) Wackt of Bloomington, Deana Bower of Galesburg, Debbie Raymond of rural Abingdon and Roxanne Courson of Galesburg; her grandchildren, Craig (Jess) Wackt, Jr., Kristopher (Kendra) Wackt, Steven (Amanda) Wackt, Jennifer Wackt, Sarah Wackt, Ashley (Kyle) Bower and Travis Bower; her great-grandchildren, Jacob Wense, Bailey Wense, Kallie Wackt, Kendall Wackt, Caitlyn Wackt, Carter Wackt, Jaxen Flowers and Preston Flowers; and two brothers and four sisters.
She worked as an assembler at the Admiral/Maytag factory in Galesburg. She lived in the Bushnell and Abingdon areas all her life. She enjoyed crafts, baking and cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren, who were her pride and joy.
As she requested, cremation will be accorded and no services or visitation will be held. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors & Cremation Services Abingdon Chapel is assisting her family with cremation arrangements.
