Mrs. Joan M. (Erne) Lacy

Joan M. Lacy, 93, of Knoxville, formerly of Galesburg, died at 10:10 p.m. Sunday, January 6, 2019 in the Knox County Nursing Home.

She was born August 31, 1925, in Galesburg, the daughter of Martin and Ella (Palmgren) Erne.  She married Ward O. Lacy on May 8, 1948, in Galesburg.  He preceded her in death August 22, 2002.

She is survived by two sons, Jared (Linda) Lacy of Bloomington and Thom (Candice) Lacy of Peoria; four grandchildren, Eric (Melissa) Lacy, Chris Lacy, Shawn Lacy, and Michelle Lacy; and four great grandchildren.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Norma Beal.

Joan was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Galesburg.  She was also active with the Knox County Republican Women and had served a term as their president.  She graduated from Galesburg High School in 1943.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel.  Rev. Frank Langholf will officiate.  There will be no visitation.  Private family burial will be in Linwood Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or the Alzheimer’s Association.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
