Mrs. Kathie Sue (Hoadley) Tinkham

Kathie Sue (Hoadley) Tinkham, 64 of Abingdon, passed away at 4:06 a.m. Sunday, February 10, 2019 at her home. 

She was born July 25, 1954 in Galesburg, the daughter of Donald and Edith “Millie” (Shinn) Hoadley.  She married Michael E. Tinkham on November 9, 1990 in Galesburg.  He preceded her in death on November 27, 2008.  She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Rick Hoadley.

Kathie is survived by one son, Robert (and Layla Sauer) Tinkham of Abingdon; one daughter, Tiffani (and Shawn Sudduth) Tinkham of Abingdon; one stepdaughter, Angel (and Travis Norton) Tinkham of Abingdon; two step-grandchildren, Laci Tinkham and Emily Norton; and one brother, Gary (and Linda) Hoadley of Cummings, Georgia.

She had lived in Abingdon all her life.  She graduated from Abingdon High School in 1972.  She graduated from Carl Sandburg College and Western Illinois University.  She worked at the former St. Mary’s Square in Galesburg and was a homemaker.  Kathie is a member of the Abingdon Christian Church.  She enjoyed shopping, crocheting, reading, watching TV, playing solitaire and spending time with her kids, her grandkids and her cats.

Cremation will be accorded.  Celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 16, 2019 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors & Cremation Services Abingdon Chapel.  Private burial of her cremains will be in the Abingdon Cemetery.
