Mrs. L. Marie (Williams) Borth

Mrs. L. Marie Borth, 82, of Galesburg, Illinois died 5:05 a.m. Thursday, May 9, 2019 at Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Petersburg, Illinois. 

She was born May 1, 1937 in Steele, Missouri to Luther and Sarah “Sally” (Clark) Williams.  She married C. Leon Cline on July 2, 1952 in Arkansas.  She later married John Borth on May 31, 1980 in North Henderson, Illinois. 

Surviving are two daughters, Sylvia M. (and Mike) Lee of Monmouth, Illinois and Diana L. Spinner of Petersburg, Illinois, a brother, Clark (and Florence) Williams of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, nine grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Kathy Murfin, two sons-in-law, John Spinner and Steve Murfin, two brothers and two sisters. 

Marie first was a house cleaner.  She then worked for Out Board Marine Corporation, Gale Products Division in Galesburg for several years.  She later was an in-home care giver.  She volunteered at Galesburg Cottage Hospital and the Orpheum Theatre.  She was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary.  She enjoyed sewing and loved to play BINGO. 

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Galesburg Chapel.  Rev. Jeff Uddin will officiate.  Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg.  Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the chapel.  Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Monmouth.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
