Mrs. Lilian Doreen (Langley) Morris

Lilian Doreen Morris, 86, of Galesburg, died at 3:28 a.m. Thursday, April 19, 2018 in Seminary Manor.

She was born July 14, 1931, in Runcorn, England, the daughter of Joseph and Lilian (Kennedy) Langley.  She married Robert Lee Morris September 17, 1952, in Runcorn.  He preceded her in death July 25, 1996.

She is survived by eight children, Kenneth Howard (Kathy) Morris of Burlington, Iowa, Sonia L. (Les) Ambrosek of Haigler, Nebraska, Joanne (Jeffrey) Palmgren of Henderson, Robert Kevin (Mary) Morris of Oquawka, Doreen (Steven) Bridges of Alexis, Colin (Sandra) Morris of Garland, Texas, Timothy John (Melissa) Morris of Galesburg, and Matthew (Melinda) Morris of Frisco, Texas; 23 grandchildren; 46 great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Joan Langley of Runcorn; a niece, a nephew, and a great niece.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Kenneth Langley.

While in England, Lilian worked for I.S.I. Company.  After moving to Galesburg, she worked for many years at Galesburg Cottage Hospital as a nurse’s aide and also in data entry and then at J.C. Penney in fine jewelry and the drapery department.  She was a member of the Church of England.  She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and baking, but especially enjoyed spending time with her family, namely her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

Cremation will be accorded.  Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, April 23, 2018 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel.  Memorial service will follow at 11 a.m.  Memorial contributions may be made to Harbor Light Hospice or a charity of the donor’s choice.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
