Mrs. Linda E. Eddington, 66 of Abingdon, passed away at 6:49 p.m. Thursday, February 1, 2018 at UnityPoint Health-Methodist Hospital in Peoria.
She was born February 27, 1951 in Canton, Illinois, the daughter of John William and Marian Alice Trone Eskridge. She married Alfred Dean Eddington on November 23, 1980 in Lewistown.
Linda is survived by her husband, Dean; her children, Kathryn Geneva “Katy” (Richard) Whitt of San Antonio, Texas and John Dean “JD” Eddington of New Mexico; 4 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Eloise Cleveland of Kewanee.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Linda graduated from Lewistown High School and later studied at the Harrignton Institute of Interior Design, receiving an associate’s degree. She had lived in Abingdon the past 36 years. She was an AutoCAD draftsman for over 30 years, last working for Caterpillar, Inc. She was a member of the Abingdon United Methodist Church. Her hobbies included cooking, camping, photography, and home interior designing. Most of all, she enjoyed her family and spending time with all of them.
Cremation will be accorded. To celebrate her life, the family will receive relatives and friends from 1p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the Abingdon United Methodist Church, 401 N. Washington St. in Abingdon. Linda’s favorite color is purple and the family would encourage those attending to wear a purple item to honor her. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Abingdon Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
