Mrs. Linda Carol Wilson, 66, of Henderson, Illinois formerly of Galesburg passed away at 9:10 am Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center surrounded by her family.
She was born November 11, 1952 in Galesburg the daughter of Robert Anthony and Elizabeth Rose Blue Miller. She married Rodney Wilson on June 13, 1971 in Galesburg.
Linda is survived by her husband of 47 years, Rodney of Henderson; her mother, Betsy Miller of Galesburg; her son, Brent (Amanda) Wilson of Dahinda, Illinois; her daughter, Crystal (Will Hill) Wilson of Pensacola, Florida; her brother, Charles “Robby” Miller of Galesburg; her sister, Marla Davis of Rio, Illinois; three grandchildren, Karisa Wilson, Kody Clay and Gage Browning; her granddog, Mazi-Moo; her grandcat, Saylor and her two dogs, Toby and Chilibean.
Linda is preceded in death by her father and her brother, Raymond “Mike” Miller.
Linda worked in retail for various local stores including Hy-Vee, F & M Bank, Staples and most recently Dunham’s. She graduated from Galesburg High School in 1970 and attended classes at Carl Sandburg College. Linda had a love for arts and crafts serving as a member of the Galesburg Civic Art Center and the Galesburg Camera Club. She volunteered for Project Dog Park and served as treasurer for Shave for the Brave. Linda and Rodney were 40 year vendors for the Knox County Scenic Drive stationed in Knoxville and London Mills. She also enjoyed country line dancing with her friend.
A Celebration of Linda’s life will be 1:00-4:00 pm Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Cedar Creek Hall, (former American Legion) 571 E. North Street, Galesburg, http://cedarcreekhallevents.com/. A Memorial Service will begin at 2:00 pm. Anyone who would like to speak will have the opportunity at this time. Feel free to come and go, for this will be a casual celebration of life to honor Linda. And kids are very much welcome! Cards will be provide to share your favorite memory (memories) of Linda for the family to read at a later date. Or if you want bring your own note(s) please do so! Food will be provided throughout the celebration and a cash bar (inside the main room) will be available (Cedar Creek accepts cash and credit).
