Mrs. Lucinda "Cindy" Lynn (Carle) Franklin

Lucinda “Cindy” Lynn Franklin, 58 of London Mills, passed away at 8:54 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born March 15, 1960 in Monmouth, the daughter of Bill and Barb (Shoemaker) Carle, Sr.  She married Tom Franklin on November 18, 1979 at the Christian Church in Keithsburg, Illinois.

Cindy is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Tom; two daughters, Racheul (and Jeremy) Malcom of Keithsburg and Amanda (and Mark) Leadbetter of London Mills; four grandchildren, McKenzie Malcom, Dylan Morris, Brandon Morris and Tyson Malcom; her mother, Barb Gaylor of New Boston; five brothers, Bill (and Mary) Carle II of London Mills, Donnie (and Nila) Carle of Keithsburg, Mike Keith of New Boston, Mike Carle of Keithsburg and Richard Carle of Keithsburg; two sisters, Darlene Bates of New Boston and Dani (and Rick) Janes of Burlington, Iowa; and several nieces, nephews and their families.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents and her father.

She lived in London Mills for the past 30 years.  She worked in health care, last working at the Prairie City Nursing Home.  She was of the Christian faith.  She enjoyed camping, road tripping, helping others, spending time with family and she was a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan.

Cremation will be accorded.  To celebrate her life, the family will receive relatives and friends from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2018 at the Alley Oops Restaurant, 409 S. Western Ave. in Abingdon with prayers by Hospice Compassus Chaplain Roger Carlson at 1 p.m. followed by a luncheon at the restaurant.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Abingdon Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
