Mrs. Patricia A. Cassini, 90, of Galesburg died at 5:00 am Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Knox County Nursing Home, Knoxville.
She was born June 4, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois the daughter of Harry L. and Alice M. Milan Polite. She married John A. “Jack” Cassini on July 1, 1950 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on November 4, 1990.
Patricia is survived by her four daughters, Mary Whetstine, Linda Adams both of Galesburg, Sharon Bartelt of Quincy, Illinois and Patti (Sean) McKillip of St. Johns, Florida; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Beth Hickey.
Patricia worked as a personnel manager for Sears for 20 years, retiring in 1985. She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church. She was a member and past president of the Altar and Rosary Society, the Credit and Professional Women Club and the Hitchcock PTA. She was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society and the Garden club. Patricia graduated from Corpus Christi High School in 1946. She served as a Girl Scout leader and an election judge. Patricia volunteered at OSF St. Mary Medical Center for 10 years. She enjoyed needlework, reading, gardening, playing bridge and spending time with her family.
Visitation is scheduled from 8:30-9:30 am Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Rosary will be prayed at 9:30 am with a Funeral Mass to follow at the church. Rev. William Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Corpus Christi Catholic Church, St. Vincent de Paul or charity of the donor’s choice.
