Mrs. Phyllis N. Whiteside, 89, Knoxville, Illinois died at 1:07 pm Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg.
Phyllis was born February 24, 1929 in Galesburg, the daughter of Raymond and Rhoda Fuller Frambes. She married Clair E. Whiteside on February 1, 1948 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on March 22, 1963.
She is survived by two sons, William (and Cheryl) Whiteside of Portland, Oregon and Steven (and Terry) Whiteside of Galva, Illinois; two daughters, Linda Sue Chenault of Galesburg and Jacqueline (and Jeff) Putnam of Knoxville, Illinois; a brother, John (and Delores) Frambes of Orland Park, Illinois; a sister, Rhoda (and Bruce) Cherrington of Galesburg; ten grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, Jack Frambes, two sisters, Shirley Erickson and Mary Ann Dawson and one grandson, Justin Whiteside.
Phyllis was raised in Galesburg and Knoxville. She attended Galesburg High School. She worked as the custodian for the First Church of God in Galesburg for 18 years, retiring in 2003.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 am Saturday, December 15, 2018 at the First Church of God. Rev. Dennis McQuown will officiate. Visitation will be 9:00-10:00 am Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the First Church of God.
