Ruth Mae Clark, 96, of Knoxville, Illinois, died at 2:08 p.m. Thursday, June 14, 2018 in the Knox County Nursing Home.
She was born April 17, 1922, in Waukesha, Wisconsin, the daughter of Earl and Emma (Meidenbauer) West. She married William Howard Clark on June 29, 1940, in Sussex, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death on March 28, 2008.
She is survived by four children, Joan Kline of The Villages, Florida, Robert (Amber) Clark of Galesburg, Illinois, Lea (Jerry) Schirman of The Villages, and Andrew (Jo) Clark of Oneida, Wisconsin; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and a brother, Tom (Liz) West of Waukesha.
Ruth was raised and educated in Waukesha, where she graduated from high school. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church. Following retirement, she and Bill lived for 25 years in The Villages before moving to Galesburg in June 2007. She was an active musician with her husband, playing the accordion and organ. Ruth enjoyed working in her yard when she was able.
Graveside service will be noon, Tuesday, June 19, 2018 in Prairie Home Cemetery in Waukesha. Her son, Rev. Robert Clark will officiate. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the Knox County Nursing Home. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel is handling arrangements for the family.
