Mrs. Sandra Kay Lee, 79 of Galesburg, passed away at 9:15 p.m. Sunday, January 6, 2019 at her home.
She was born June 16, 1939 in Avon, the daughter of Robert and Ina (Allison) Stick. She married James E. “Tubby” Lee in 1956 in Galesburg. She later married James “Buck” Benson in 1984.
Sandra is survived by her children, Lisa M. Purl of Galesburg, Maria A. “Toni” (and Robert) Keisel of Norfolk, Virginia, James C. (and Patty) Lee of Metamora and Tim W. (and Jenny) Lee of Mackinaw; 15 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Jack Stick and Dean Stick, one sister, Roberta Currens and one half-sister, Janice Saville.
She worked at Admiral/Maytag in Galesburg for 32 ½ years, retiring in 1998. Her hobbies included collecting Indians and wolves, crocheting and putting puzzles together.
Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 11, 2019 at the Abingdon Cemetery with Chaplain Ted Shirley of Harbor Light Hospice officiating. There will be no visitation. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Abingdon Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
