Mrs. Saundra "Sandy" A. (Archer) Godsil Jennings

Saundra “Sandy” A. Godsil Jennings, 80 of Galesburg was born February 10, 1939 in Dayton, Ohio and passed away at 5:32 a.m. with her children by her side on Friday, November 8, 2019 at Seminary Manor after a short struggle with cancer.

Sandy is the eldest daughter of William "Al" Archer & Annamae Belle Wolfe Archer.   She is survived by her children, Greg (Joyce) Godsil of Pensacola, Florida and Barbara (Chris) Robinson of Oceanside, California; 5 grandchildren, Nate Godsil, Maggie (Lucian Fohr) Godsil, Shane Robinson, Taylor Robinson and Danielle Robinson; nieces, nephew & her best friend Phil Shragal.

She was preceded in death by her mother, father, 2 sisters, grandson, Andrew Godsil and husband, Bill.

Sandy moved to Illinois in 1961 from her hometown, where she graduated from Stivers High School in 1957 to marry her first husband Pat Godsil in 1961. She later was married to Bill Jennings from 1984 until his death in 2016. She enjoyed working in her yard, playing with her dog Bitsy, listening to country music and her beloved St. Louis Cardinals. Sandy was a secretary at IBEW, D&B Distribution, Nypro and NAEIR and retired in 2001 from JB&D Siding.  She always thought of others, was a loving person & a very hard worker, having helped build 2 houses in Oneida. She will be deeply missed by all who knew & loved her.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Monday, November 11, 2019 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel followed by her funeral service at 11:30 a.m.  Her grandson, Taylor Robinson will officiate.  Burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery.
