Mrs. Shirley Brown

Shirley Brown passed with peace and grace on November 9, 2018 with her family by her side. She was preceded in death by, husband Bob Brown, son Mike Brown, brother Jack Savidge and son-in-law Ken Bussey. She is survived by her daughter Chris Bussey, her son Steve (JoAnn) Brown and daughter-in-law Barb Brown; nieces Carol (Walt) Foster, Kim (John) Linn and their families; grandchildren Jordan (Tom) Rozeske and Elizabeth (Richard) Brown and great-grandson Archer Brown.

Shirley loved to giggle and laugh and was always ready for fun and adventure. She loved spending time with her family and friends, quilting, sewing, cooking, doing puzzles, playing games, and creating art in many forms. Shirley was an accomplished professional seamstress and quilter and won several ribbons in quilting competitions. She was active in her quilting group and her church community and loved talking and laughing with people. Shirley loved to travel and would often say “Can’t you see the humor in that?” when something didn’t go quite as planned. She leaves us with very fond and rich memories and touched the heart of almost anyone she met. Shirley was a bright light in this world and will be greatly missed.

Shirley’s visitation will be held Sunday, November 18, 2018 from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 p.m. at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Galesburg Chapel. There will be a celebration of her life at Budde’s Pizza, Galesburg directly after the visitation.  A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 19, 2018 at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg.  Rev. Frank Langholf will officiate.  Memorials can be made to Trinity Lutheran Church 304 E.
