Mrs. Versie June (Williams) Hollowell

Mrs. Versie June Hollowell, 87, of Galesburg died at 6:25 am Saturday January 27, 2018 at Heartland Healthcare Center, Galesburg.

She was born September 14, 1930 in Galesburg the daughter of Bursie and Estella Mae Green Williams, Sr. She married Harold Sibley and later married Thateus Hollowell. They both preceded her in death.

Versie is survived by her four sons, Virgil (Elizabeth) Sibley, Sr. of Galesburg, Dennis (Lisa) Sibley of Galesburg, Tracy Sibley of Kansas City, Kansas and Troy Sibley of California; her daughter, Sonja Sibley of Galesburg; her two daughters-in-law, Vicki Sibley and Darlena Sibley both of Galesburg; two brothers, Charles Williams, Sr. of Galesburg and Albert Williams of Las Vegas, Nevada; twenty-eight grandchildren, forty great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, both her husbands, two sons, Anthony Sibley, Sr. and Rev. Jon Sibley, Sr., three brothers, Bursie Williams, Jr., Edward Williams and Stanford Williams and her grandson, Anthony Sibley, Jr.

Versie worked as a mental health technician for over 25 years. She worked for the Galesburg Research Hospital until they closed and retired at Zellers in Peoria. She attended Galesburg High School and has lived in Galesburg her entire life. She was a member of the Full Gospel Church. Versie was baptized in 1986 by her sons, Anthony and Jon Sibley. She loved watching TV games shows, shopping going out to eat and watching movies.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 am Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Pastor Mark Dexter will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 am Saturday at the chapel. Burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Heartland Health Care Center or to Hospice Compassus.
