Mrs. Virginia “Ginny” Lee Sutter, 82, of Galesburg, Illinois went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ Monday, October 1, 2018 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.
She was born April 22, 1936 in Galesburg, the daughter of David and Marita Milroy Goff. She married Wayne E. Sutter on October 9, 1971 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on May 23, 2017.
Surviving is her sister, Marian (Carroll) Graves of Altona, Illinois; her brother, Leslie (Maxine) Goff of Woodhull, Illinois and Fred Goff of Bushnell; nieces and nephews, Larry (Karen) Goff, Chuck (Sally) Goff both of Woodhull and Doug (Sharon) Goff of Hopedale, Illinois, Carolyn (Bill) Dustin of Burbank, Illinois, David Graves of Dahinda-Oak Run, Dale (Michelle) Graves of Altona, and several great nieces and great nephews.
Ginny graduated from ROVA High School in 1954. She worked as a nurse, at various places throughout her career including, the former Galesburg Research Hospital, St. Mary Square and retired from OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg. She was certified in surgical technology, pharmacology, medical terminology and was an EMT. She was a member of the Colonial Baptist Church. Ginny was an avid sports fan. She particularly loved to watch the Bulls play. She enjoyed watching the weather channel.
Memorial Services are scheduled for 11:00 am Monday, October 8, 2018 at Colonial Baptist Church, with Pastor Darrell Grimm officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 am Monday at the church. Burial will be at 1:30 pm Monday in the Victoria Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Knox County Humane Society or to the Colonial Baptist Church.
