Mrs. Wanda G. (Hillery) Hunter

Mrs. Wanda G. Hunter, 97 of Abingdon, passed away at 12:30 a.m. Friday, January 26, 2018 at the Care Center of Abingdon.

She was born October 5, 1920 in Bushnell, the daughter of Charles L. and Anna Moore Hillyer.  She married Lloyd W. Hunter on November 24, 1946 in Bushnell.  He preceded her in death on July 24, 1999.  She was also preceded in death by her parents, one son, Danny Hunter on December 25, 2006, an infant daughter, Kathy Hunter, five brothers and five sisters.

Wanda is survived by her daughter-in-law, Deb (Tom) Keith of Abingdon; her grandchildren, Rodney (Patty) Hunter, Adam (Liz) Hunter and Stacey (Chris) McMahill; 5 great-grandchildren;  2 great-great-grandchildren.

She graduated from Bushnell High School.  She had lived in the Bushnell, Berwick and Abingdon areas in her lifetime.  She peddled newspapers, worked at the Bushnell and Macomb penny stores, and helped Beulah Meadows for 25 years with baking and crafting.  She was a member of the Abingdon Christian Church.  Her hobbies included gardening, sewing, embroidery and playing card games.

Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at the Abingdon Cemetery.  Rev. Darryl McDaniel will officiate.  There will be no visitation.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Abingdon Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
