Ms. Norma Jean (Swearingen) Ladwig

Ms. Norma Jean Ladwig, 88, of Galesburg died at 8:18 p.m., Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital.

Norma was born May 27, 1930 in Neponset, Illinois to Glen and Irene Dayle (Fisher) Swearingen. She married Edward Walter Ladwig and later married Billy George Kimball. Both her first and second husband have preceded her in death.

She is survived by her children Mark E. Ladwig of Galesburg, Michael H. (Bessie) of Galesburg and Rebecca J. (John) Carnes of Blue Grass, Iowa. Also surviving are three grandchildren, three great grandchildren and a fourth great grandchild on the way.

Along with her husbands she is preceded in death by her parents.

Norma grew up in Neponset in a family of 13 children. She was later a homemaker for her family and enjoyed doing crafts like baking and sewing. She was a member of the Galesburg Chapter #235 Order of The Eastern Star and was baptized at Bethel Baptist Church.

Cremation has been accorded. Services will be scheduled at a later date. Memorials may be made to Mark & Mike Ladwig. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services, Galesburg is assisting the family with arrangements.
