Pamela K. Jacobs

Pamela K. Jacobs, 75 of Galesburg, formerly of Abingdon and Springfield, passed away at 1:50 p.m. Saturday, December 29, 2018 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

She was born May 2, 1943 in Peoria, the daughter of Richard and Dorothy (VanVelsor) Folkman.  She married Don Jacobs.  She later married Bill Johnson.

Pam is survived by her daughter, Shelly (and Troy) Curtis of Galesburg; two stepsons, Jeff Johnson of Galesburg and Doug Johnson of Bollingbrook; 5 grandchildren including Brian (and Mandi) Simmert and Lyndi (and Ryan) Bowling, 5 great-grandchildren and 5 step-grandchildren; one half-sister, Anita Kampas; and her special friend of 30 years, Tom Billington of Springfield.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, David Folkman.

Pam graduated from Galesburg High School in 1961 and then attended Beauty School.  She lived in Galesburg, Abingdon and later in Springfield where she worked at Memorial Medical Center as a room assignor and doctor clerical assistant, retiring in 2008.  She was of the Methodist faith.  She enjoyed crafts and in her early years she was an avid bowler.

As she requested, cremation will be accorded and no services will be held.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Abingdon Chapel is assisting the family with her arrangements.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
