Agnes Mangieri

91 of Abingdon, died at 8:35 am Thursday, April 7, 2005 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg. She was born August 26, 1913 in St. Arsenio, Italy to Arsenio and Margaret Reciniello Spinillo. She married Arsenio "George" Mangieri on October 11, 1934 in New Castle, PA. He preceded her in death on July 6, 1991. She was also preceded in death by an infant son, Mario Mangieri, one adult son, Frank Mangieri and a brother, Anthony Spinillo. Surviving are one son, David (and Joyce) Mangieri of Burnsville, MN; a sister, Mary Monaco of Philadelphia, PA; 4 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren. She had lived in Abingdon since 1934. She worked at the former Blue Bell Manufacturing Company and the former American Sanitary Factory in Abingdon. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Altar & Rosary Society. She was also a member of the St. Mary Medical Center Auxiliary and a member of the North End Club. Services will be 10:00 am Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Abingdon. Father Joseph Presley will officiate. Burial will be in the Abingdon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 6:00 pm Sunday at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel with a Rosary service at 5:30 pm. Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
