Albert Melvin Anderson

90, of 303 N. Austin Ave. died at 9:05 pm Monday, January 12, 2004 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center E.R. in Galesburg. He was born on June 4, 1913 in Clearbrook, MN to John & Sigred Ostensdalen Anderson. He married Margaret J. Jacobs on April 8, 1939 in Galesburg. She preceded him in death on April 25, 1993. Surviving are one son, John (and Margaret) Anderson of Valley Center, CA; three daughters, Janet A. (and John Casey) Heady of Abingdon, Judy M. (and Ted) Godsil of Galesburg and Jeanine L. (and Harold) Erickson of Elizabethtown, KY; 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Leister of Bemidji, MN. He was also preceded in death by his Parents, one Granddaughter, two Brothers and three Sisters. He farmed for John Martin on IL Route 116 for 17 years and worked at Admiral Manufacturing Company in Galesburg for 21 years retiring in 1978. He was a member of the former First Baptist Church in Abingdon. He was a member of the Galesburg Rescue Mission where he was a volunteer speaker and served on the Board of Directors for 54 years.
