71, 802 W. Monmouth St., died at 6:00 am Monday, January 14, 2008 at his home. He was born on May 11, 1936 in Parkman, OH to Melvin MV. and Ida J. (Yoder) Miller. He married Wilma Jean Cooper on December 19, 1959 in Chicago, IL. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Paul (Martha Sandman) Miller of Abingdon and Jason (and Traci) Miller of RR Galesburg; a daughter, Nadine (and Lloyd) Miller Wiebe of LasVegas, NV; a brother, Wallace (and Clara) Miller of New York; three sisters, Gertie (and Ervin) Bricker of New York, Mattie (and Mose) Weaver of Pennsylvania and Leah Miller of Middlefield, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant daughter, Norita Miller. He served in the Army Airborne for four years. Al retired from the Maytag Company in Galesburg in May of 1996 where he worked as chief electronic engineer. He was a member of Harry E. Wiles American Legion Post #381 and the 11th Airborne Division Associations. His hobbies included bowling, being a rock hound, electronics, photography, computers and woodworking. Funeral service 11:00 am Friday at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Eleanor Landon Will officiate. Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery with military rites by Harry E. Wiles American Legion Post #381. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday at the chapel.
