Allison Williams Obituary

Allison L. Williams, 33, formerly of Galesburg, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, January 15, 2023 at her residence in Augusta, Georgia. She was born November 20, 1989 in Urbana, Illinois, the daughter of Elizabeth (Unger) and John Stein of Augusta, Georgia.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her sister, Katrina (and Drew) Mitchell of Marysville, Washington; her brother, Garrett Stein of Chicago, Illinois; her father, William Kusnerik of Peoria, Illinois; Her beloved grandparents, Kenneth and Margaret Unger and her heroic Iraq War Veteran and cousin, Chicago Police Officer Brandon L. Krueger preceded her in death.

Allison was an illuminating person in this world and her light shone the brightest when she was spreading love and joy with her family and friends. She had a notoriously infectious giggle. She was a member of St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Parish in Augusta, Georgia and her Christian walk of faith was a cornerstone of her life. Allison was an animal lover who volunteered at local animal shelters. Her own dog, Wrigley, was the man of her life. In addition, she was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, country music lover, and enjoyed horseback riding and reading. She won awards for her writing and had published poetry.

A Funeral Mass is scheduled for 10:30 A.M.  March 11, 2023 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Galesburg with the Rev. Lee Brokaw officiating, where Allison previously belonged and helped her grandmother with volunteering for the St. Vincent de Paul Society. A short prayer service and entombment will follow at Knoxville City Cemetery Mausoleum. All are welcome to attend as she is prayerfully and finally rededicated to God. At her parent’s request, in lieu of flowers, donations are made to Lighthouse Care Center in Augusta, Georgia, where Allison was employed at the time of her death... Or a similar addiction recovery charity, a cause which she strongly supported during her adult life.
