Antonio Nicola Maienza

79 of 507 W. Monmouth St. died at 7:20 am Thursday, July 12, 2007 at his home. He was born on October 14, 1927 at the family home, 603 S. main St. in Abingdon to Biagio Antonio and Chiara Pica Maienza. He married Antonietta Pica. She survives. Also surviving are his sons, Michael of River Forest, IL, John of Santa Barbara, CA and Charles of Collingswood, NJ; a sister, SaraFina Grone of Galesburg; 4 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings. He graduated from Abingdon High School in 1945. He then served in the navy during the Korean Conflict and received the Good Conduct Medal, President Unit Citation, Ribbon with Bronze Star and Korean Service Medal. He later graduated from St. Louis University with a Bachelors of Science Degree in 1957 and graduated from Washington University é
