Benjamin Randell Obituary

Benjamin Joseph Randell, 39 of Galesburg went to be with his Lord and Savior Friday morning August 28, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family.

Ben was born March 18, 1981 the loving son of Daniel C. and Kaye (Little) Randell.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Dan and Kaye Randell of Galesburg; his grandmother, Shirley S. Randell of Galesburg; sisters, Camille N. (Dale) Killip of North Carolina, Emily D. Randell of Florida, Ashley J. Randell-Youngblood of Illinois; three bonus sisters, Tilde (Lars) Vester-Winther of Denmark, Linh (Barry Tam) Tong of Washington State and Janthe Rodenburger of Germany; his aunts and uncles, David (Rosemary) Randell of Galesburg and Sherry (Michael) Dillbeck of Michigan; his nieces and nephews, Lillian K. Youngblood, Daniel A. Killip, Carson W. Killip, Emma B. Killip; two bonus nieces, Gift Sakulthongcharoen of China and Jakung Kim of South Korea; and many cousins; his personal assistant and friend, Christina Secrist and his annoying dog, Zoe. Ben is preceded in death by his grandfather, Eugene Randell, grandparents, Edgar and Dorothy Little and his cousin, Kataryna D. Moore.

Ben graduated from Galesburg High School in 1999 and attended Carl Sandburg College for two years. Ben had a sparkling personality that made everyone want to be around him. He was a magnificent collector of Star Trek memorabilia, books and pencils. He was a Jeopardy-aholic, rarely missing an episode! Ben took great pride in his knowledge of American Presidential History. He knew all the presidents in order and unique facts about each one of them. He obviously had presidents he admired more than others. His favorite past time was spent listening to his mother reading to him.

Ben gave his life to the Lord at the young age of three years old. He was an active member of Bethel Baptist Church. Ben volunteered his time and served on many teams for “The Weekend, A Journey With Christ” (formerly known as Chrysalis).
