Beryle Doris Murk

85 of RR St. Augustine died at 8:10 am Wednesday, September 13, 2006 at the Care Center of Abingdon. She was born on July 21, 1921 in Warren County to Walter and Jennie Terpening Brown. She married Theodore F. "Ted" Murk on October 6, 1945 in Abingdon. He preceded her in death on December 21, 1997. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and six brothers. Surviving are one son, Gale Murk of RR St. Augustine; one daughter, Diana (and Keith) Underwood of RR St. Augustine; two grandchildren, Lauren (and Tom) Lee of Eldridge, Iowa and Kyle Underwood of Carbondale; one brother, Elmer (and Velma) Brown of Galesburg; one sister, Alta Holmes of Galesburg. She was a homemaker. She also helped her husband farm near Abingdon and St. Augustine for over 50 years. She was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Abingdon and was a Sunday school teacher at the church for over 30 years. She was a member of the Knox County Home Extension. She enjoyed gardening, quilting and china painting. Funeral service will be at 10:00 am Saturday, September 16, 2006 at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Abingdon. Rev. M. Annette Faull will officiate. Burial will be in the Abingdon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Friday at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Memorials may be made to her church or the Care Center of Abingdon.
