Betty J. Dredge

81, of Abingdon, died at 3:55 pm Wednesday, March 12, 2003 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg. She was born November 25, 1921 in Galesburg to George and Mary Gschwend Norquist. She married Mark W. Dredge on January 27, 1940 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on May 6, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, Carol Ann Dredge and one sister, Helen Duncan. Surviving are one daughter, Mary Sue (and Gerald) Wolanin of Galesburg; one son John W. (and Rosemary) Dredge of Galesburg; three brothers, Robert (and Jeanne) Norquist of Lexington, South Carolina, Edward (and Betty) Norquist of Mineral Wells, TX., William (and Fran) Norquist of Mount Ephraim, NJ.; two sister Virginia Vinson of Southaven, MS. and Marilyn (and Ted) Mellican of Galesburg; 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She grew up in Galesburg and graduated from Galesburg High School in 1939. She lived in Abingdon most of her life. She worked at the former Demoss Smith Electric in Avon, Il. for seven years and last worked as a secretary/bookkeeper at Swansoné
