Betty Catherine Fey

79, Abingdon, died at 11:50 p.m. Sunday, June 20, 2004, at her home. She was born July 24, 1924, in Peoria. She was reared by Bert and Myrtle Dawdy. She married Richard B. Fey July 18, 1942, in Palmyra, Mo. He preceded her in death Dec. 7, 2003. She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn (Richard) Tucker, Rushville, Jane (Jim) Lee, Abingdon; one daughter-in-law, Linda Fey (Harold) Smith, Abingdon; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Sidney Fey, Sr. and one brother, William Dawdy, with whom she was reared. She had lived in Abingdon most of her life and attended Abingdon High School. She was a member of the Abingdon High School Half Century Club, the War Wives and was a charter member of Abingdon Junior Women’s Club. She was a member of Abingdon United Methodist Church. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 26, 2004, at the Abingdon United Methodist Church with the Rev. Paul Dinges officiating. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Burial will be in the Abingdon Cemetery. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Relay for Life Angel Team, Alzheimer’s Association or a charity of the donor’s choice.
