91 of 300 N. Jefferson St., Apt. 303 died at 5:52 pm Thursday, August 18, 2005 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital. She was born April 8, 1914 in Bushnell, IL to Henry and Ida Belle Raby Dilts. She married LaVerne Lomax on April 8, 1933 in Abingdon. He preceded her in death on July 31, 1957. Surviving are two daughters, Rosie (and Marv) Murphy of Mason City, IA and Lynn &and Ed) West of Cameron; two sisters, Marge Hovell of Abingdon and Irene Hutchins of prairie City; two grandchildren, Crystal (and Keith) Murphy-Schriber of Mason City, IA and Dana (and Karen) Allen of Knoxville; one great grandchild, Chase Daniel Allen. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Carol Lee Lomax and six brothers. She attended country schools near Bushnell. She had lived most of her adult life in Abingdon where she worked at the former Blue Bell Mfg and Shank's Clothing Store, and at the former Abingdon Pottery in the art ware department. She was also a housecleaner for the Claude Craver family. She was a member of the Abingdon Christian Church. She was an avid Cubs fan and enjoyed crocheting, quilting and ceramic works. She enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her family. Services will be at 10:30 am Monday at the Abingdon Christian Church. Rev. Raymond McLaren will officiate. Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery. Friends may call one hour before the service on Monday at the church. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Abingdon Christian Church.
