Charles E. Calhoun, Sr.

72,of 102 N. Austin in Abingdon died at 11:51 pm Thursday, July 3, 2003 at his home. He was born on April 28, 1931 in Greenbush to Charles and Minnie Tinkham Calhoun. He married Pearl Mehn in Astoria, IL. She survives. Also surviving are three sons, Dale Lee Calhoun of Canton, IL.; Charles E. Calhoun, Jr. and James E. Calhoun both of Abingdon; 2 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Floyd R. Calhoun and Lloyd R. Calhoun, one sister, Marion Forshee. He had lived in Abingdon most of his life. He worked at the former Briggs Manufacturing Company in Abingdon and last worked for Abingdon Salvage. Graveside service will be at 11:00 am Monday at the Abingdon Cemetery with Rev. Danny Hunt officiating. Friends may call from 10:00 é
