Charles "Chuck" Beadles Obituary

Charles “Chuck” A. Beadles, 78, of Galesburg passed away at home Sunday, April 21, 2024.

He was born October 8, 1945 in Fulton County IL, the son of John Thomas and Hazel Donna (Lawver) Beadles. Chuck grew up working on the family farm in Huntsville, IL, and attended Augusta High School, graduating with the class of 1963. Following high school he studied at Western Illinois University. He married Constance “Connie” Reese. Chuck later married Cindy Kohlenberger.

Chuck did many jobs over the years but loved to teach. He was a Spanish teacher for Churchill Jr High and ROWVA. He also served as principal for Bethany Christian Academy. Chuck proudly worked for Lester Roloff Ministries in the 70’s in Corpus Christi, TX. He also worked for Galesburg State Research Hospital and the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services. At one time, he had a handyman service and even created a group called ADD-optable Computers. Chuck would go to schools, hospitals or other locations where the businesses or companies would get rid of their old computers. He'd take these computers and install learning programs onto them. Once he was finished, he would gift these computers to families with children with learning disabilities all over the community. Helping those less fortunate still have an amazing learning experience. Teaching and being an advocate for children always brought him great joy.

Anyone who knew Chuck knew he was an ornery man. But he was an ornery man with a very open and loving heart. He loved old tractors and had a knack for fixing and repairing clocks. Whether it was a wall clock or a huge grandfather clock, he could fix it. In his later years he enjoyed the simplicity of country music and mowing his lawn on his John Deere Tractor. Chuck was also a devoted member to Alpha Baptist Church. Chuck will be greatly missed by all who knew him but he is finally reunited after 6 long years with best four-legged friend, Vanna.

Chuck is survived by 3 sons, Ethan (and Heather) Beadles of McLouth, KS, Joel Beadles of Camden, TN, and Clint (and Beth) Beadles of Spring Mills, PA.  His 2 daughters, Susan Childers of Burlington, IA, and Kayla Beadles of Schaumburg, IL. Chuck’s 10 grandchildren, Andrew (and Amy Jo) Beadles, Danielle Beadles, Joanna (and Bret) Rosenow, Leigh-ann (and Dillon) Kassinger, Jacilyn Childers, Jayson Ritchey, Joseph Seroka, Ava Beadles, Beau Beadles, and Callie Beadles. Chuck is also survived by 9 great grandchildren and his siblings, John Beadles of Rushville, IL, and Thelma (and Bob) Allen of Kahoka, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Melvin and Lee Beadles, and a sister, Maralee DeJaynes. Chuck is also preceded in death by his beloved cocker spaniel, Vanna Black.

Cremation is to be accorded and no services are to be held. The family will hold a private celebration of life at a later date.
