Connie L. Brown

Connie L. Brown, 70, of Galesburg, Illinois, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at home surrounded by her family.

Connie was born August 18, 1953 in Sterling, Illinois, the daughter of Donald and Mary (Carlson) Groff. She married Ralph W. Brown Sr. on October 15, 1976 in Galesburg, and they had a beautiful marriage until he preceded her in death on May 28, 1997. After Ralph’s passing, Connie connected with her high school boyfriend Curt Tresenriter, who would go on to be her partner for the next 25 years.

She is survived by a son, Ralph Brown Jr. of Galva, Illinois; a daughter, Erin (and Dan) Powell of Galesburg; a step-daughter, Julie (and Rick) Kapsch of Lisle, Illinois; a brother, Bruce (and Julia) Groff of Elm Springs, Virginia; grandchildren, Liberty Brown of Spring, Texas, Dean Powell of Galesburg and Elizabeth Kapsch and Joe Kapsch of Lisle, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Roger Groff.

Connie graduated from Rock Falls High School in 1971. She was a homemaker and worked at Maytag from 1996 to 2003.She enjoyed going to garage sales, crafting, giving painting lessons and sewing

A Graveside Funeral Service will be held at 11 A.M. on June 20, 2024, at Memorial Park Cemetery in Galesburg. Chaplain Jordan Knight will officiate.
