86, of 833 Olive St. Galesburg, formerly of Abingdon, died at 4:15 pm Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2005 at her home. She was born March 25, 1919 in Maquon, IL to Iliff and Flossie Rogers Simkins. She married Fred A. Danforth on May 21, 1949 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on March 14, 2005. Surviving are one son, Robert "Jim" (and Sara) Miner of Abingdon; one daughter, Beverly Danforth of Galesburg; one sister, Betty (and Ray) Swanson of Plant City, FL; 3 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother. She graduated from Yates City High School. She had live most of her adult life in Abingdon where she worked as a clerk in the cafeteria for Abingdon School District 217. She had lived in Galesburg since 1999. She was a member of the Abingdon Christian Church. Graveside service will be at 2:00 pm Friday at the Abingdon Cemetery. Eleanor Landon will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the service on Friday at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel.
