54, of Abingdon, passed away at 8:05 a.m. on Wednesday, November 28, 2007, at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg, IL. He was born on April 30, 1953, to Donald and Wanda (Parrish) Kepple, in Bourne, Massachusetts. He married Pam Sandberg on May 28, 1988 in Avon. They were the parents of five children. Whitney Tabb, Ron (and CC) Tabb, Brandon Kepple, Kara (and Joel) Roosa and Melanie (and Timmy) Peed. They were blessed with 3 granddaughters, Laney Tabb, and Taylor and Allyson Peed. Their fourth grandchild is to arrive in February, 2008. Besides his wife and children, he is also survived by his parents, Don and Wanda Kepple of Avon, one brother, Daniel (Nancy) Kepple of Spring Grove, IL, and two sisters, Brenda Boydstun of East Galesburg and Teresa (Jim) DeKeyrel of Key West, Florida. David was a 1971 graduate of Avon High School, where he was an active member of FFA. He attended Western Illinois University, Macomb, Illinois, where he was a member of the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity. He joined the electrical apprenticeship program and was named "Outstanding Apprentice" for the Class of 1981. He was a union electrician and a member of NECA IBEW Local 34 for over 30 years. He had worked for the last 10 years at MSI in Galesburg. He was a lifetime member of Avon Harmony Masonic Lodge #253. He was also a member of the El Bon Shrine Club and the Shriner Clowns. David was a good-natured, loving and giving man. He loved his wife and family above all else in life. He was a friend who was always ready to help, listen or have a good laugh. His laughter was contagious. He loved turkey hunting, travel, wine making and relaxing in his pool with friends and family. He will be missed by all who knew him. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 1, 2007, at the Abingdon United Methodist Church with Rev. Paul Dinges officiating. Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 pm Friday at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel with a Masonic service at 8:00 pm. Memorials may be made to the family or to the Shrine Sneaker Fund.
