DeAnne Lee Larson, 57, of Rio, Illinois passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at 10:40 a.m. Saturday, April 22, 2023, at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg, Illinois.
She was born on November 15, 1965, in Moline, Illinois to Edward and Helen (Rednour) Larson. She married Barry Rehling, July 3, 2004, in Abingdon, Illinois.
Surviving is her mother, Helen Larson of Rio Illinois, a brother, Mark Larson of Woodhull Illinois, two sisters, Lisa (Gary) Nelson of Woodhull, Illinois, and Tracey (Jason) Bailey of Galesburg Illinois. She is also survived by nieces, Nicole and Shelby, nephews, Steven and David, her godson, Cameron, and her beloved dog, Jasper Lee. She was preceded in death by her father, Edward Larson, a sister-in-law, Kate Larson, and grandparents, Shelby and Maire Rednour and Martin and Anne Larson.
DeAnne graduated from R.O.V.A. High School in 1983. She graduated from the Nursing Program at Carl Sandburg College in 2005 with her LPN degree. She was a nurse at the Western Illinois Oral Maxillofacial Surgery office in Galesburg, Illinois for several years. She later moved to southern Illinois where she worked as a gastroenterology nurse at Southern Illinois Health Care in Carbondale, Illinois. She was a member of Clarmin First Baptist Church in Marissa, Illinois.
DeAnne loved spending time with her family. She adored her two nieces and nephews and godson. She enjoyed baking and decorating cakes. DeAnne especially loved decorating cakes for family birthdays, holidays, and other special occasions. On hot summer days you could always find DeAnne tending her beautiful flowers or floating in her pool. She had a passion for running and participated in numerous 5K runs.
Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 29, 2023, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Galesburg Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the chapel with Pastor Mike Higgerson officiating. As DeAnne requested, cremation will follow the service. A private committal service will be at the Rio Baptist Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
