Delwyn Rusty A. Meadows

81 of RR Abingdon died at 7:55 am Tuesday, May 23, 2006 at OSF St Mary Medical Center ER. He was born on July 25, 1924 near Abingdon on the family farm to Arlien and Lena Byram Meadows. He married Beulah Wilkins on Easter Sunday, March 27, 1948 at the Abingdon Christian Church. She survives. Also surviving are one son, David Meadows of Abingdon; one granddaughter, Emily Meadows of Stevens Point, WI; one sister, Shirley (and Dean) Bradshaw of RR Abingdon. He was preceded in death by his parents, two grandchildren, Jonathon and Megan Meadows, two brothers, Raymond and Bob Meadows. He was a farmer and had lived in the Abingdon area all his life. He graduated from Abingdon High School in 1942. He was a member of the Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Galesburg. He enjoyed flying and was a licensed pilot and had co-owned airplanes with other local pilots. Funeral service will be at 1:30 pm Friday, May 26, 2006 at the Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Galesburg. Rev. Daniel Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Thursday at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Memorials may be made to Mount Calvary Lutheran Church Endowment Fund or Easter Seals Respite Camp.
