Diane DeJaynes Obituary

50 of Galesburg and formerly of St. Augustine, died at 11:20 pm Sunday, March 12, 2006 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital. She was born on May 17, 1955 in Monmouth, IL to Grant E. and Wilamene Baker Ryan. She married Keith DeJaynes in June of 1973. Surviving are her mother, Wilamene Ryan of St. Augustine; one daughter, Jennifer Jo DeJaynes Graves of Galesburg; one sister, Linda (and Dan) Schisler of St. Augustine; one brother, Tom ( and Ginger) Ryan of Burns Flat, OK ; two grandchildren, Marcus and MaKenna DeJaynes; 4 nieces, 3 nephews, 2 great nieces and 2 great nephews; aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, an infant daughter, Kassandra Jolene DeJaynes and an infant brother, Gary E. Ryan. She graduated from Avon High School in 1973. She worked for Knox College in Galesburg for 22 years, where she was a supervisor in the Dining Hall Services for most of those years, retiring in May of 2005 because of her health. She had a liver transplant in 2003 and developed a major bone marrow disease. Her hobbies included traveling and spending time with family and friends whom she cherished. She also liked to read almost anything and enjoyed bingo and riverboat gambling. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her twin grandchildren. Funeral service will be at 1:30 pm Thursday at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Mike Krueger will officiate. Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Wednesday at the chapel. Memorials may be made to the family for a college fund for her grandchildren.
