Donald F. "Donnie" Andrews

62 of 300 W. North St., Abingdon died at 8:12 am Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital ER. He was born on July 29, 1946 in Cameron, IL, a son of George Charles and Mabel (Barney) Andrews, Sr. He married Norma E. Abel Pierce on May 1, 1970 in Rushville, IL. Norma preceded him in death on January 22, 2009. He was also preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and half-sister. Donnie is survived by a step daughter, Lynn Weaver of Canton, IL; a step son, Stanley pierce of Altona, IL; a half brother, Thomas M. Curtis of Cameron, IL; a brother-in-law, Warren E. Bailey of Galesburg, IL; a sister-in-law, Linda (and Clinton) Hills of RR Galesburg, IL; 3 step grandchildren, Angela (and Scott) Miller, Megan Pierce and Holly Pierce; 2 step great-grandchildren, Nathan Miller and Caleb Miller. He is also survived by nieces and nephews. He attended Galesburg and Warren schools. He was employed by Palmer Sales & Service in Abingdon from 1966-1967, Abingdon Farm Equipment from 1967-1973, Westbay Equipment Company RR Galesburg from 1973-2001, Monmouth Implement from 2001-2002 and currently worked at Birkey's Farm Store RR Galesburg. Funeral service will be at 11:00 am Friday, June 12, 2009 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel in Abingdon. Mrs. Eleanor Landon will officiate. Burial will be in the Abingdon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Thursday, June 11, 2009 at the chapel. Memorials may be made to the Care Center of Abingdon or the Abingdon First Responders.
