Donavan Foutch Obituary

77 of Wataga and formerly of Abingdon, died at 8:15 am Monday, February 19, 2007 at his home. He was born on August 10, 1929 in Dalton, Nebraska to Harley and Cordia M. Servis Foutch. He married Lillie Eileen Schisler on May 25, 1949 in Abingdon. She preceded him in death on February 7, 1979. He later married Patricia Joan Atwell Hall on August 10, 1987 in Abingdon. She survives. Also surviving are one son, Dwight (and Pam) Foutch of Abingdon; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; four step children, Michael (and Danielle) Hall of Abingdon, John (and Deb) Hall, Sr. of Ottumwa, IA, Susan Johnson of Monmouth and Lynn Hall of Galesburg; ten step grandchildren and four step great-grandchildren; one brother, Lugene (and Nancy) Foutch of Abingdon and nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Frances Eileen Koller Hanna, a brother, Van Dorous Foutch and an infant sister, Frances Foutch. He moved with his family from Nebraska to Vermont, IL in 1930 where he grew up and attended grade school. He moved to Abingdon in 1940 where he attended Abingdon High School. He served in the US Navy from April 5, 1948 until January 30, 1950. He was employed at the CB & Q Railroad and later the Burlington Northern Railroad as a bridge and building carpenter from October 13, 1947 until retiring on June 4, 1984. He was a former member of the First Assembly of God Church in Abingdon and currently attended the Wataga Congregational Church. Cremation will be accorded. Graveside service will be at 1:00 pm Saturday, February 24, 2007 at the Vermont Cemetery in Vermont, IL. Rev. David Kramer will officiate. There will be no visitation. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to Wataga Congregational Church, 105 S. Sparta St., Wataga, IL 61488 or First Assembly of God Church, 835 W. Martin St., Abingdon, IL 61410.
