Donna J. Oleskie

73 of Galesburg died at 9:25 am Friday, June 27, 2008 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg. She was born on October 18, 1934 in Quincy, IL to Joseph Franklin and Ruth Ann Nelson Whitney. She married Roman A. Oleskie on March 24, 1956 in Lake County, IL. He preceded her in death on September 15, 1981. Donna is survived by a son, Michael J. (and Lisa) Oleskie of Harrisonburg, VA, two daughters, Lorraine J. Oleskie of Hagerstown, MD and Dianne Davis of Galesburg, 5 grandchildren, a brother, Bill (and Betty) Whitney of Abingdon and three sisters, Maralene Baughman of Galesburg, Shirley Whitney of Overland Park, KS and Margie McIntire of Rock Island, IL. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Lowell Whitney. She graduated from Abingdon High School. She served in the Navy from 1950 to 1956 and was a WAV and Personnel Clerk. She and her family lived in Maryland and Washington DC for 15 years and returned to Galesburg in 1976. Graveside service will be at 11:00 am Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at the Abingdon Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
