89, 306 N. Carlysle Ave., Abingdon, died at 1:07 PM Wednesday, May 16, 2007 at home. She was born September 13, 1917 in rural Gilson, IL, the daughter of Hess and Blanche M. Spear Daily. She married Morris "Fats" Fordyce in 1946 in Kahoka, MO. He preceded her in death in 1971. She is survived by 3 sons, Jerry (and Jan) Fordyce, Steve (and Anita) Fordyce, and Rod (and Julie) Fordyce, all of Abingdon, a daughter, Linda (and Bob) Frazier, Abingdon, a brother, Bill Daily, Knoxville, IL, 2 sisters, Loraine Woolsey, Galesburg and Virgene Meadows in Colorado, 7 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Woolsey. She was a seamstress, first working at the former Blue Bell in Abingdon and then at the former Gross Galesburg. She retired in 1979. She graduated from Gilson High School. She had lived in Abingdon most of her life. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Harry E. Wiles American Legion Post in Abingdon. She enjoyed sewing and cooking. Graveside services will be 2 PM Friday at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Eleanor Landon will officiate. There will be no visitation.
