Doris A. Patterson

Doris A. Patterson, 87, of Galesburg, Illinois, passed away at 9:15 p.m. Monday, December 27, 2021, at St. Mary Medical Center Galesburg.

 She was born October 5, 1934 in Galesburg, the daughter of James Delbert and Ruth Evelyn (Cooper) Welsh.

 She graduated from Abingdon High School in 1952 at age 17. She began her career at Burlington Truck Lines in Galesburg, Illinois, and Denver Colorado as a keypuncher. Then, 17 years at KFC on East Main St. Galesburg, before retiring.

 Doris loved spending time with her grandchildren, planting flowers and watching birds.

 She is survived by her son, Charles “Chuck” F. ( Julie) Hook Jr. of Galesburg; Grandchildren, Peyton Hook, Preston Hook and Pacie Hook of Galesburg; One step grandchild, Paige ( Jacob) Richards, one step great grandchild Savannah Nelson, Her sister, Beverly Terpening of Englewood, Colorado, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

 She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Ruth Louise Dillon, two sisters, Mary and Phyllis, two brother in laws, Eugene Terpening and Rollo Wilkenson.
