90 of 303 N. Washington St. died at 3:31 pm Saturday, January 29, 2005 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg. She was born on January 5, 1915 in McKee Township, Adams County, IL to George Conrad and Josephine Anna Mixer Goertz. She married Charles M. Bowen on September 12, 1933 in Quincy. She later married Ottes Pruett on January 31, 1953 near Maquon. He preceded her in death in 1991. Surviving are two daughters, Charlotte Stinson and Doris Brooks both of Abingdon; one sister, Irene Evans of Camp Point, IL; 7 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren; one stepson, one stepdaughter, several step-grandchildren including Sherry Banks of East Galesburg, whom she raised, step great grandchildren and step great-great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother and three sisters. She had lived in Abingdon since 1992 and prior to that had lived in the Maquon area. She was a homemaker and a member of the Knox County Farm Bureau Home Extension. She was of the Lutheran Faith. Funeral service will be at 1:00 pm Tuesday at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Chapel in Abingdon. Rev. Paul Dinges will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the service on Tuesday at the chapel. Burial will be in the Abingdon Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Abingdon First Responders or a charity of the donor's choice.
