Sanitary Road died at 7:40 pm Monday, October 12, 2009 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg.She was born on February 21, 1932 in Knox County to Homer and Nada (Mitchell) Schisler. She married William Edward Dwyer on June 21, 1952 in Abingdon. He survives.Also surviving are her children, Sheila (and Hugh) Forbes of Media, Lawrence (and Debra) Dwyer of Abingdon, Susan Dwyer of Abingdon and Andrew (and Marsha) Dwyer of Wyoming, IL; 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Robert (and Velma) Schisler of Jacksonville, Bradley (and Pat) Schisler of RR 6 Galesburg, Don (and Darlene) Schisler of Abingdon and Homer (and Sandra) Schisler, Jr. of Michigan; two sisters, Muriel Derry of Abingdon and Betty (and Elmer) Sickles of Abingdon.Dorla was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, Berlon, Jay, Giles, James and Jack, one sister, Lois Munson and a son-in-law, Paul Shumard.She had lived in the Abingdon area most all of her life and attended Abingdon schools. She had worked at the Blue Bell and later worked as the secretary at the dental office of Dr. H. Jay. Sandercock for 31 years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was also a member of Grandmothers Club and she enjoyed making crafts, cooking, gardening and spending time with her family.Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am Friday, October 16, 2009 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Abingdon. Father William Miller will be the celebrant. Burial will be in the Abingdon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm Thursday at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel with the praying of the Rosary at 7:30 pm led by Father Joseph Presley.Memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation.
