Dorothy M. Boone

82, of Abingdon died at 4:20 pm Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at the Care Center of Abingdon. She was born on October 17, 1923 in Orion Township, Fulton County, IL to Charles F. and Edith Huston McElroy. She married James "Mart" Boone on June 28, 1941 in Kahoka, MO. He preceded her in death on March 25, 2000. Surviving are one daughter, Connie (and Butch) Rawlings of RR Abingdon; two grandsons, Patrick Rawlings and Kip Rawlings; 4 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother. She had lived in Canton, Fairview, London Mills and Abingdon. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed camping and traveling. Graveside service will be at 2:30 pm Saturday at the Abingdon Cemetery. Eleanor Landon will officiate. Visitation will be from 1:00 until 2:00 pm Saturday at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Memorials may be made to John Mosser Public Library or the Abingdon Historical Society.
