E. Leon Glisan

67, of RR Abingdon died at 6:40 pm Sunday, August 19, 2007 at his home. He was born on November 2, 1939 in LaHarpe to Elmer and Ada Mohr Glisan. He married Joyce Haley. He later married Janet Huls. Leon is survived by his children, Debbie Schoaff of Macomb, Becky and Mark Monier of Kentucky, Tammy and Rick Potts of Abingdon, Tim Glisan of Mount Sterling, Teresa and Travis Smith of Carthage and Terry Glisan of Carthage; 21 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; five brothers, Richard and Vicki Glisan of Galesburg, Charles and Ina Glisan of Avon, Ed and Patsy Glisan of Abingdon, Wayne and Cheryl Glisan of Galva and LaVerne and Sandy Glisan of RR Abingdon. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant daughter. Leon worked at Admiral Company in Galesburg. he also was a truck driver and farmer. He enjoyed tending his livestock and taking care of his farm equipment. He was baptized in the LaHarpe Christian Church. Funeral service will be at 11:00 am Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Eleanor Landon will officiate. Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 am Wednesday at the chapel. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
